Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water systems, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and applying sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to identify.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and officials were bracing for more assaults.
